Lisa is a licensed professional clinical counselor (LPCC) and registered art therapist (ATR) trained to diagnose and treat mental and emotional disorders. She completed her master’s degree in counseling with a concentration in art therapy at the University of Louisville. Before joining Providers for Healthy Living, Lisa has worked with adults in outpatient community mental health as well as inpatient crisis stabilization.
Lisa provides counseling to adults with mood disorders, anxiety disorders, trauma disorders, borderline personality disorder, substance use disorders, dual diagnosis, life stressors, and grief. She works from a person-centered perspective and utilizes CBT, mindfulness, and art therapy techniques. Alongside talk therapy, art therapy provides clients an additional method to look at experiences from a different perspective, increase self-awareness through exploration of symbolic imagery, and practice coping and distress tolerance strategies. Lisa has specialized training in Eye Movement Reprocessing and Desensitization (EMDR) which can be used to treat trauma and/or negative core beliefs.
